The Power of Words

How easy is it to "Do the Word?"

Do you say things that you regret afterwards?   Or sometimes don't?

You know, I think I can safely say that we all do this. We talk far too quickly, spraying words out far too loosely, even before our brain has had time to think what consequence they may have. And then, The damage is done. It cant be taken back.
Then our brains kick in and say "ooops, look what you've done!"

Lets look at Matthew 12:36-37.
“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”

This is very scary. I can imagine myself already taking up all of Gods time with all the things I have said and meant and things that I have said and don't mean. Nevermind anybody else.
But what does this mean.
Well lets look at the word 'idle' in this verse. It basically means - words that you say that you don't believe. You could use these when you exaggerate something or add meat to a story you are telling someone, but some of the things you say, you actually don't believe in yourself.
Take this statement: "I would kill for an ice-cream!"
You obviously don't mean that you would kill someone, its just a word that expresses your feelings right?
Well yes, but its an idle word.
Most people would say, "but this is just a manner of talking or expressing something".
It is, but where does it end?
Everytime you say things that you don't really mean, it begins to effect your heart.
The only reason why we haven't killed someone for an ice cream yet, is because we don't believe in our heart what we are saying.

Our words or everything. This very world was created using words. Jesus spoke creation into being. This was a positive thought, positive words and ending up in a positive action.
The same happens negatively. Talk negative, think negative, do negative!
If we believe we are going to be sick or if we believe that we will always be poor, and then confess that with our mouths, we will get what we believe.
Thank God for faith!
But words need to be believed as well. We can talk many idle words, but we are called to believe in what we say.
So if we really believe that we will kill someone for an icecream, then we will.
Same happens when we pray for healing over someone....
If we do not actually have faith in God and BELIEVE that healing will happen, then it wont happen! We can pray many words for hours and hours, and nothing will happen - but it is because don't believe that it will be done!

Every person on this earth has been given an equal measure of faith. But it is what we do with that faith what makes it count. Some people just do a better job of using the faith they have received from God.

Lets see Romans 12:3:
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith”

Negative words are a killer. They make your heart and your thoughts numb over time. Slowly they start 'making' your heart change in what it was created to believe and you become a negative person, spreading negativity, no faith, a feeling of no hope and ultimately death in the power of the tongue.

Galatians 2:20:
........Christ is in me. I am a new creation.....

Its like I am talking about myself here, but if you have nothing positive to say, don't say it.
Don't get hung up by negative words and start paying attention to what we say!
