Our Spiritual Senses (Spiritual Sight)

We all have senses..Taste, Smell, Touch, Hearing and Sight. We use these senses everyday while we live, and most of the time we actually forget about them because they just come naturally.

But did you know that we have spiritual senses as well. Senses that we use to decipher Good and evil, hearing from God and even knowing beauty and telling the difference between truth and lies..
Do you know how to use these? Do we take them for granted? DO we know when to use them?
I will go through the 5 them in the next 5 blog posts and lets see if we can break them down.

Our spiritual senses help us define Gods Spiritual truth. Here's an example of them:

Eyes: Scan the environment, see the future, see visions, perception of people & events
Ears: Hearing words from God, obedience, servant hood, knowing the will of God
Taste: “Taste and see that the Lord is good” - discernment via experience
Smell: Fragrance of holiness, rapid discernment, “smells funny” / avoids toxic teaching
Touch: Communication of holiness, healing, anointing and spiritual power, also 'touch not the unclean'

The opposite to this is spiritual blindness, deafness to Gods prompting and totally 'senseless' to touch. (being beaten to pieces by evil, and not even knowing about it)
So if we are to advance in the Christian life we must constantly exercise our spiritual senses. We cannot be slothful and apathetic. Nor can we be stubborn, hard-hearted or complaining. Rather we are to be alert, watchful, curious, constantly learning from God as eager disciples.
We need to understand what God is saying and doing.
Those people who ignore God's appeal in their conscience, over and over again, become hardened in their inner worlds and their spiritual senses become dull and unresponsive.

Our spiritual sight allows us to see God, not physically but spiritually. See His way. If the eye of a person is evil, greedy and carnal then the body will be filled with darkness.
Another source of spiritual darkness is a murderous spirit of anger, rage or unforgiveness which totally overwhelms our ability to see clearly (in the spiritual sense).

He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness until now. (10) He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no offense in him. (11) But he who hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because darkness has blinded his eyes. 1 John 2:9-11

Angry, judgmental people have impaired spiritual vision. They think they can see clearly because they are so good at spiritual nit-picking - but Jesus tells them that they actually have a 'log in their eye'.

Jesus spiritual sense of sight revealed the Father to Him so that He was able to know the Father's will and to 'see what the Father is doing'.
The spiritual sense of sight is so valuable that Paul prays for the Ephesians to be given a spirit of wisdom and revelation, and for the eyes of their understanding to be opened.
When the spiritual sense of sight is absent the Bible is a 'closed book' even to the religious leaders of the day.
The spiritual sense of sight is an essential prerequisite to 'living in the light' – that is living an obedient Christian life that is on track with God.
You will not learn the hope of God's calling on your life without the Holy Spirit showing it to you! And you cannot behold the benefits or glory of being a Christian unless they are revealed to you from Heaven! And only God can speak quietly to your spirit to show you the greatness of His power and all that He wants to do on your behalf!

On the other hand if the Christian life seems to be hopeless, unprofitable, inglorious, and powerless it is because you have been listening far too much to the spirit of this world and far too little to the Spirit of God! The eyes of your understanding need to be enlightened!

Enlightenment is what happens when you light the lamp, or flick on the switch, or open the shutters, blinds or curtains and finally let light into the room. It is also what happens when dawn comes and ends the dark night. Thus there are two kinds of enlightenment – an external one where God shines light in like the dawn, and an internal one where we finally open the shutters of our previously evil minds. There is a place for us exercising our will. Which is precisely the point of the commands about living in the light:

DO you need to pray for God to open your sense of sight? Does God need to work in your spirit to clear any blockages that you may have against using your spiritual sight?
Pray now, Ask God for His light in your world!

Amen.

Walking With Jesus...

I was at a church service yesterday where our minister, Trevor Hudson, was talking about walking in the Spirit. The Holy Spirit!

Yesterday was Pentecost, this is when Jesus sent out His disciples into the world to preach the good news about Jesus, and that He had risen from the dead and that we, as humans. are saved from eternal death. EVIL is not a threat anymore.
But how do we walk in the Spirit, I thought.

Well, what is the Holy Spirit. Simply put, the Holy Spirit is God the Father and Jesus the Son...here and now, with us, everywhere.
To be able to walk in the Spirit, we need to have the Spirit in us. How do we do that?
Well, we ask God for His Spirit to come into our hearts. Pray to God and be ready to accept His spirit whenever, wherever. You don't have to do special things and say special things for this to happen. God promised His Spirit (The other Counselor) to us anytime we asked...

Luke 11:11-13 - Which of you fathers, if your son asks for[f] a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

The Spirit of Jesus, IS Jesus, here with us...NOW! Its like He is walking with us, in us and around us. Why does He do this? Well, it is to testify to us how to live according to His Fathers will. The Holy Spirit edges us on how to talk, how to think, what to say, what to do, when to keep quiet, when to pray, what situations not to get into etc etc.. All of this in the will of God. So should a situation come around and you are not sure of what to do, think or say..Ask the Holy Spirit (Jesus in you), what He would do?
Sometimes you wont even need to ask, you will get prompted immediately before it even happens.

How do you know its from the Spirit of God, Well if you are at peace with what you are being told, then it is from God. Satan will never prompt you to do something in peace, He is evil and will always bring you down and try to catch you out.
Jesus sent out His disciples to preach the good news to others. Well, that's our job. We are the disciples. It difficult, but you know what, when it becomes a part of your life (The Holy Spirit in us), then it becomes so much easier.

Many people today are pouring their lives out and working for Jesus Christ, but are not really walking with Him. One thing God constantly requires of us is a oneness with Jesus Christ. After being set apart through sanctification, we should discipline our lives spiritually to maintain this intimate oneness. When God gives you a clear determination of His will for you, all your striving to maintain that relationship by some particular method is completely unnecessary.

Keep strong in the Spirit of God.
Amen

Prayer For Healing...

Have you ever felt helpless. When you see someone sick or hurting or in pain...and all you can do is watch from the side, and you have no 'power' to do anything,
All you want to do is make it better...and you cant!

It really drains my heart to see this. We are currently going through it with my little boy, who is 1 month old now and in terrible pain at times.
What are my options? I cant just sit back and see this happen!

Well, you know what, as humans, WE dont have the power to heal anything. BUT, through Gods power in us and in Gods will, we can heal anything!
We have the power of God in us to heal, just like Jesus did when He was on earth.

For me to pray for my little boy shouldn't be daunting, it should happen naturally. And this is the same for anyone that you may find the calling to pray for.

Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases (Psalm 103:3)
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up (James 5:14-15.) .

First of all, we need the power of God in our lives to be able to heal others. How? We need complete and 100% faith in God that He will heal. Our faith in God depicts how much we rely on His power to live.
Your faith has made you well,” Jesus said to the woman who had been bleeding for 12 years (Luke 8:48. NASB).
This when the woman who asked Jesus to heal her.

Call on Jesus to 'intervene' in your life. Call on His power, and EXPECT it. Know that His power will come upon you! (Faith).
Jesus said to anyone who believes, "They shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover" (Mark 16:18, KJV). Any believer, one who believes and acts on God’s Word, can do this for you. The “laying on of hands” is one of the six basic principles of the doctrine of Christ described in Hebrews 6:2 (look it up), a great truth neglected in many churches.

Also, Tell others about who you want to pray for and ask them to back up your prayer. Ask them to pray for you while you ask Gods power in the situation.
Confess that Jesus is Lord with your own mouth!
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and to saturate your spirit. Then by faith, expect the power of God to come upon you.

With this, you are ready to pray for anyone, anytime, anywhere!

What sometimes helps is to put a substance to the situation. What I mean to to get some oil, pray for Gods Spirit and physically anoint the person that you are praying for.
By anointing them, basically puts a physical thing to your prayer and you are physically applying "Holy" oil to a person who's needs healing.
You don't have to do this, just an idea)
It just using a physical substance to apply divine intervention.

Lay your hands on the person, pray for them. Pray for there peace and immediate healing . Always pray through the Spirit of Jesus.

Remain in Jesus. Remain in His word, sometimes quote scripture if you can while you pray. Know the promises of God and expect that Gods promises will apply.

Cry out to God, Feel His Spirit filling you as you pray. Feel His Spirit being transferred from you to the person you are praying for. Know that God is there, with you, all the time...FOREVER.

I will most certainly do this with my son, and I know God will be with me and give me the strength to pray in HIS NAME!

Praise to our God or healing, Strength and Power
Amen

Personal Revival Part 2...

Personal christian revival is something that we all have to go through. As Christians, we will always do "bad" things and "evil" things that are not apart of Gods will.
It is a sinning world, it is an evil world...and you know what, we are part of it...whether we like it or not!

OK, so the last statement above "whether we like it or not", can take many different meanings. What I am saying here is that we are in this world, there are no other worlds available to live in, and unfortunately it has turned evil.
It also means that some of us have fallen so accustomed to this world, that we are doing things that are not of Gods Word. Basically, "DO it because everyone else does" OR "If I don't do it, then people will look at me like I am weird or stupid."
What I also mean here is that, we actually do have a choice whether we LIKE IT or NOT.
You know why we have this choice. Its because Jesus did a wonderful thing on earth in His short time as a physical being on this earth. He DIED, He was crucified and evil thought it had its way with Jesus.
BUT, He rose again, He defeated sin and ascended to His Father (Pureness ,Goodness).
Think of yourself in that situation. What we are called to do is to DIE to an evil sinful nature and rise into a new life, a christian life, a loving and pure life.
But, how do we do all this good stuff in an evil world where everyone else is the norm

Well, don't we have to stand for what we believe. Didn't Jesus do that? He stood against anything evil when He was here and this is why He was such a hated person!
Continue confessing your sin. (Yes, you will still sin...always). Because Jesus rose up against evil, He defeated it. He did this for all of us. All that needs to happen is for us to take the opportunity to call on Jesus, believe that He did in fact die for us, and our sins will be forgiven, not just for now...but forever!
We can also study how Jesus lived on earth, so we can try be the same. Wouldn't that be great! Can you imagine having 7 billion people all trying to do good, loving each other and living a life that Jesus did.
Look, its not going to happen, but what WILL happen, is the change that you make  WILL make a huge difference in your life and possibly someone else life.
The Power of Our Lord!
Amen

Anytime Prayer (Luke 10)

  • Are we restricted to where and when we can pray?
  • Do we have to pray in a certain place, certain way and certain position?
  • Must I close my eyes?
  • Do I have to pray only at home?
  • When praying for someone, must I look at them in their eyes?
  • Do I have to pray out loud?
The abounding answer to all these questions above is NO!

Now how about these questions:
  • Can I pray while driving in my car?
  • Can I pray for a building/shop/shopping complex?
  • Can I just talk to God without having to be in some or other situation when doing so?
  • Silent prayer?
  • Can I pray for someone in a coffee shop, for example or a shop teller while they are working?
The abounding answer to all these questions above is YES, Of Course!

Praying to God is really a full time occurrence that does not need to be set to specific times. Problem being with this, is that we then tend to sideline God to certain times of the day and certain time slots. The truth is, God wants us to speak to Him ALL OF THE TIME!

1 Thessalonians 5:17 says "Pray continually"
Ephesians 6:18 praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.

Talk to God in your car, obviously you cannot close your eyes, but that is not a must. You don't have to bow your head. All you need to do is know that your are speaking to your Saviour and know that God is always with you and IS listening, ALWAYS.
Praying doesn't just consist of talking either. Praying can be singing, humming, talking in tongues and merely thinking about God.

Psalm 95:2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!

When you walk into a shop, ask the teller how her day is. Possibly meet the need. This can be just listening to him/her or as physical as buying them a chocolate. It may be that you"know" of someone that can help them in their situation. MAKE THE CONNECTION!
Its costs you nothing, but glorifies God. How?? Well, This is what Jesus did on earth, and people will be able to see that in you as well.
Some people may even ask you how you live a life so 'helping', 'courteous' or 'loving'. This then gives you the opportunity to explain.
Its hard, but only at the beginning when you make the first connection.
Important! Don't be embarrassed, ever. Who cares what others think?
This can be applied anywhere. Go for it.
Why? Well read Luke chapter 10 in Gods Word!

Glorify Gods name, ALWAYS
Blessings.

Standing Up For Our God.

Well, How do we do this? How can we stand against feeble attempts from others to try and 'persuade' us to turn away from God.

Christians are not to fear the devil ... but that doesn't mean they are to remain uninformed of his devices -- uninformed of his influence in their lives, nor in the lives of others!

First of all, lets look at some of the tactics that the devil uses to try and 'manipulate' your faith in Christ:
  • The devil tries to make us believe in his subtle lies. Those lies that He keeps on trying to tell us sub-consciencely. The devil tries to tell us that "little" things that we do are still alright.
  • The devil tries to make evil things look "exciting". Things that he knows that would possibly enjoy doing, and then he will make us believe that it would alright in Gods eyes.
  • The devil tries to discourage us all the time. he will make us null over our bad points and things that we do wrong. According to the devil there is no way out, once you have sinned, its over for you. He just picks and picks at all your little flaws and shortcomings and exaggerates and blows them up out of all proportion!
  • A lot of people condemn themselves & feel bad and wicked because they've thought or been tempted with sinful thoughts, but even JESUS was tempted in all points the same as we are!
  • Because the devil has no power over God, doesn't mean he is not a very cunning spirit. he is always around, always waiting, always willing to tempt you and always waiting for your next move....
BUT WAIT! All doom and gloom gets cut now.
How do we stand against the devil and STAND UP FOR OUR GOD?
  • Memorise Scripture from the Lords Word. Rebuke the devil and Stand Up for Your Lord.
  • We need to live according to His Word. This means knowing Gods Word. In every circumstance, try to go back to Gods Word to see what you should do. What is wrong and right. This is always a fantastic tactic to keep the devil out of influencing us.
  • Grow our knowledge in Christ, Know what kind of person Jesus was and try be the same. Obviously, we humans, are a sinful race, but Jesus knows this. We need to try and "be" and "do" what Jesus did. He was our example on earth. He died on the cross like we should die to sin and He ascended to heaven, like we will do one day when our Saviour returns to earth to collect His people.
  • Stand against other religious sects that try to 'persuade' you otherwise against God. This does not mean that we should "rubbish" other religions, but it means understanding their believes, understanding why you don't believe in what they believe and not causing anger between different religious people. Different religious people will try and say that Jesus was a mere prophet and try and punt their God. Its your decision.
  • Use the Armour of Christ against evil. Ephesians 6:11 - Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
Eph 6:10-17 (NIV) ...Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Personal Revival Part 1

Sometimes, we as humans, need to reassure ourselves of our faith. We also need to make sure that we are on the right path in terms of connecting with God. Are you?
Sometimes I think...sorry, I KNOW....that I am way off track.

In order to experience personal revival, we need to live in personal fullness of what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross. We don't have to achieve anything, it has already been done for us. What we need to do is ask Jesus to open our eyes and minds to the Holy Spirit and to help us understand Gods Word, Know God and what He wants to do for us.
We can pray for a deeper understanding and indwelling of the Holy Spirit in our lives and what the Holy Spirit wants in our lives.

Here are some questions that you could ask yourself on a daily basis. These are just some but certainly brought a new "understanding" to my life. Answer them honestly:
  • Do I tell the truth at all times?
  • Do I swear (even in my thoughts)?
  • Do I have family prayers with my family?
  • Do I treat my wife with courtesy?
  • Do I regard the possessions of my house Mine or Gods?
  • BIG ONE! DO others see Jesus Christ in me?
  • Do i read the Word of God everyday?
  • Is my quiet time really an encounter with God?
  • Is quiet time a priority everyday?
  • Do I criticise?
  • Do I truly love those who work with me?
  • Do I seek my own interest or that of others?
  • Do I pursue my work/interests over Gods?
These questions make you think. I just chose these as SOME of the questions that I found particularly apt in my life, maybe the same for you?

We need a personal revival in our lives. One that allows God in our lives and one that allows God to rule our being and our everything.
How do we do this?
  • Repent from every known sin (I will not go to bed without confessing all known sin to God)
  • Remove all evil habits and nature. (Remove these before going to bed every night)
  • Make right any wrongs between yourself and others. (If possible, do this before going to bed at night) - Really difficult
  • Trust God to use you as an instrument in others lives.
God sends us His Holy Spirit to help us with the above. God is a loving God and will help us whenever we ask...wait for it....IN HIS NAME! Not for our own good and interest but in Gods interest and plan for our lives!

Blessings.

Why Is God Ignoring Me?

Ever thought to yourself...praying is getting me nowhere. No one ever listens. I am talking to some God that exists in the sky somewhere on a big throne, maybe even with a lightning bolt aimed at my head.
I often do. I can pray and pray, no answer, no message, no "road-sign" that God made me look at and that was His way of giving me a message. NOTHING!
I mean WHAT IS THE POINT?

It makes me feel unimportant to God,it makes feel like I have done such bad things in my life that God is ignoring me or punishing me. He is saying "Well, you don't want to follow my rules, don't come running to me asking for stuff!"

It often makes me feel like 'Is my pray unimportant. Am i asking for things that are way beyond my means or Gods means. Is my prayer worth a response? Maybe if I just had more faith, trust etc....
I mean, WHAT IS THE POINT?

Sometimes I think we, as humans/Christians/whatever, make up stories to make ourselves feel important. What I mean is, if you feel that God isn't answering your prayer/talking to you/giving you a message in some manner, then we create this whole dumbfound story in our minds that we aren't wanted, or Gods doesn't like us, or we have sinned just too much so God doesn't even want to listen to us. All the things I said above...
Do we concoct those stories because we don't get what we want? It feels like we are unworthy of Gods 'presence'.
Then I ask the question, Do we need to ask God things or pray to God about things that only He wants for us. So if I pray for a new job as top manager in a big company and I don't get it, I think to myself maybe it wasn't Gods will. What happens when you pray for a very sick and dying family member. You ask God to heal them, to protect them and keep them from dying...and then 2 days later, they die.
I must admit, I certainly struggle with that idea.

But I think sometimes, what helps me understand this a bit better is the way you look at the outcome. I believe that, and according to the Bible, God is Good. God is not an evil Spirit that floats around and waits to punish us the first second we step out of line. The bible explains how God loves His people and would anything for them. So I can exclude the fact that God would send me in a direction that is bad.
As humans, we have 2 choices. If I pray for protection and to get to a holiday destination safely, and then during the trip we have an accident..then I have 2 ways of looking at the outcome.
  • Do I create a story in my head that God didn't hear my prayer, God didn't want to hear my prayer, God led me into this crash/accident because I am a huge sinner and He is punishing me. Lie He is saying "You deserve it!"
  • Or do I say to myself, maybe this accident did happen for a reason, because maybe further on, we would have been in a worse accident and one or all of us killed.
Well, Because of what the Bible says about God and that He would never lead us to harm, that sort of kicks out the first option above. God  will NEVER lead His people into harm.
The second option is a choice we make. Its also a choice that will make us feel better knowing that God actually protected us on our trip on holiday.
Yes, an accident isn't nice and God could have probably done it another way...But It is our choice to decide what kind of God we are worshipping.

This is a very debatable topic. I would love to hear your opinions on it or experiences.

Bless all of you as you read though this and decide for yourself.

Praying for personal protection

Have you ever thought of praying over your house and belongings and family. I certainly have. I know it can be done and that it very effective, but the question is, "How?"

Do I close my eyes and touch an object to pray over it?
Why should I pray over something?
When should I pray over something?
What do I say?

Lets start at the WHY part.
Well its taking a proactive response to possible evil rather than a reactive response. Reactive means that you are attacking evil while you are in the middle of it. Stop attacks before they happen.
Pray to God and ask Him your own strategy to use to pray against evil in your house/family.
After you have giving yourself to the Lord, A good idea is to pray over everyone and then everything in your house. Go and praying every room for everything in that room. Pray for Jesus blood to cover each object in that room....you may even feel the leading to pray for some particular things/people. DO IT!
Jesus blood cleanses anything and everything! Once His blood covers something, it is consecrated and made pure!

WHEN?
Pray in the mornings and evenings over your house/belongings/cars/family members/extended family members. Pray that each family member is protected and blessed.
Sometimes you may feel the need to just bow your head and pray about somebody or something.DO IT!

WHAT?
Pray against the transference of evil at any stage. Pray that Jesus' blood stops evil from being near a person/yourself. A good piece of scripture to pray here is you like is Ephesians 6 (The armour of God).
Pray for the angels of God to surround whom you are praying for and form a blockade against evil. Pray against spells or curses. This is a heated topic with some people, but no doubt, they ARE real,Evil does roam everywhere, waiting for a "taker". Spells and curses may have even entered your family via ancestors 100 years ago. Pray against that.
Pray the Lords Prayer everyday!
Another possible verse to pray over your home and family is Psalm 91.
If you do find yourself in the midst of an attack, ask the Lord to send warrior angels to encamp above, below and around your house and property as protection, specifically ask Him also to send warrior angels around each individual family member also, then read 'warfare scriptures' and command all demons to go to the abyss in the name of Jesus Christ.

Most importantly, REST IN GOD.Take yourself away from the world for awhile a day, and be in the presence of God. You will find REST there. During these times, the Lord may speak to us.

Blessings.

Glorifying God.

Our purpose on earth, the reason we were put here...
is to glorify God!   Nothing else!

"What" you ask, "Is that my only purpose? I cant do that all the time, Its impossible, What a boring life."
Really?

Well lets look at the life of Paul, again. Paul was a prime example of glorifying God.
Paul's constant concern was for the maturing of the people to whom he ministered. That was his burden and the desire of his heart, that the people to whom he ministered would mature. That is the burden of any teacher.
Philippians 1:9-11 (NKJV) And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Paul had a passion for the spiritual development of His People and we see this passion in his prayer life. There are many verses in Paul's letters that are prayers about his people that he ministered to. Paul wants His people to grow and mature their spiritual development for example in this verse:
Ephesians 3:14-19 (NKJV) For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height; 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Paul prayed for their spiritual needs.
Prayer is our duty. Prayerlessness is a declaration of self-sufficiency, which is pride! On the other hand, prayer is a declaration of our dependency. Does your prayer life declare that you are dependant upon God for everything?

So how can I apply that in my own life:
  • It is every believers duty to pray for each other, all the time
  • The greatest christian virtue is love. LOVE one another. A special kind of love,...a christian love.
  • Pray that your friends and family act in love for one another and love them.BUT, you cannot love others if you do not love the Lord. Apart for the Lord we don't have the ability to love
  • DO not judge others (DIFFICULT????). Who are we to judge others? We all have our own issues and if people judge us, let them. Yes its hard, in fact its extremely difficult to listen to people down us or talk about us behind our backs, but leave it up to God to sort them out. Don't act in an un-christian way.
  • Be sincere to your family and friends. This means having a spotless inner self.Don't lie to them (DIFFICULT???). Be genuine, honest and have integrity. You will see that Paul prays for these things in his letters as well.
How does this glorify God? Well look at Matthew 5:16
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Amen.

A child is a blessing.

We were blessed almost 2 weeks ago with a beautiful son. He is perfect, He doesn't have anything I would want changed.
God has blessed us with the best...
And I don't deserve him.
What have I done to deserve such a major blessing?
Our daughter, who is 4 now is just as perfect. In fact, we have 2 of the most beautiful kids on earth (brag brag).
When God blesses, He blesses abundantly!
That's fantastic, but it doesn't end there. We are blessed as a human nation but is that where we stop. NO. We need to bless others as well.

Proverbs 11:25 in the Message Bible says:
“The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.”
  • Emulate the God who blesses so abundantly. Praise His name, Sing His name in worship and stand against satan.
  • Realise that these abundant blessings are, in fact, from God Himself and no other. Don't think that it was co-incidence or "it just happened".
  • Show Gods lavish grace, power and mercy to others all the time. Show unconditional love and mercy to others. You cannot expect mercy and love from God if you don't give it to others. You are not the stop in the chain. If you do not pass on mercy and love to others, God will find someone else to show His mercy and grace and love to.
  • You bless others by the words that come out of your mouth. Proverbs 18:21 in the Message Bible says:
“Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit—you choose.”
  • Seek it...Receive it...Give it...Get more of it! If you want to get abundantly blessed, you need to show more of it
  • Your future is not determined about what others do, but rather what you do. The worst think you can do is to place your trust in something else in times of trouble. That means you do not trust God and you are walking away from Him. You cant control what others do.....but you can control what you do to others.

These are extremely hard, but with Gods help...all things are possible.
